A developer of autonomous technology, nuTonomy Inc., has just completed a fundraising campaign and rounded up approximately $3.6 million of good ol’ seed money. The advanced software developer and MIT spinoff received investments from Signal Ventures, Samsung Ventures, Fontinalis Partners, and Dr. Steven LaValle, among others. We here at CleanTechnica, EV Obsession, and GAS2 are launching our first report. It’s a report that was made possible by the thousands of readers who completed a handful of surveys we created to dive deeper into the electric car market. I think the report, Electric Cars: What Early Adopters & First Followers Want, fills a number of important information gaps, and includes many interesting findings. So, he dropped the chill comment that Uber would buy 500,000 self-driving cars from Tesla within the next 5 years if Tesla could produce them. Fun? Yeah. But there are a few issues here that make my own little skull want to explode. First of all, Tesla’s not going to have 100% self-driving cars for sale within the next 5 years. No one is. Even if they could produce them at a reasonable cost and without technical issues, the legal system simply isn’t going to move fast enough to support that. But anyway, there are a host of barrie...
