Say what you will about Elon Musk and Tesla Motors— whether you think he’s the living incarnation of Tony Stark or a sad, angry nerd who got lucky with PayPal and is now in deep over his head– the man makes some seriously quick cars. The cars’ performance is a huge part of what justifies their price premium over, say, a Nissan Leaf or Kia Soul, so it’s only natural that Tesla owners would want to stretch their cars’ legs now and then and experience their
awesome ludicrous performance for themselves. Thus was born TeslaCorsa.
Billed as “the world’s first, Tesla-only racetrack experience,” TeslaCorsa invites owners to private racetrack outings to push their cars– and themselves!– to the limits of performance.
Last weekend marked the fourth TeslaCorsa event, with this one being held at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The track’s most famous feature is the treacherous downhill “Corkscrew”. As it has so many times in the past, it caught out at least one driver in a red Model E who made an epic, sideways save to bring the car home in one piece.
In addition to speed and thrills, a few noted “Teslalebrities” (trademark Jo Borras, 2019) made an appearance at TeslaCorsa 4, including professional racing driver Randy Pobst and Unplugged Performance‘s own Ben Schaffer, who provided me with these photos (thanks, Ben!). Check out the photo gallery, below, then let us know what you think of this Tesla fun run in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
