La Bandita Concept is a New-age Porsche Spyder (w/ Video)

La Bandita Electric Concept - Modern Porsche 550

If you’re looking a for a thoroughly modern, forward-looking take on James Dean’s iconin “lil’ Bandit” 550 Porsche Spyder, this crowdfunded concept is for you. Meet “la Bandita”, an ultra lightweight, 550-inspired electric supercar built by the guys who brought you From Dust to Glory.

The car itself was designed in concert with Autodesk, and makes heavy use of that company’s design software. It’s a pitch to try to make it seem like a more attractive offering to industrial designers, instead of its usual architecture clients. It’s a good pitch, too, making heavy use of big names like Tesla and trying to model the success of Factory 5.

I mean, I don’t think it’ll ever get off the ground, personally- but I’ve been wrong before. And, this time, I really, really want to be wrong. So, watch the video, above, then tell me lies about how I’ll soon be able to park a La Bandita of my very own in my garage in the not-too-distant future. Do that in the comments at the bottom of the page, and let me know what you think of the pretty car drawings while you’re at it. Enjoy!
